Crestock is a Norwegian based microstock agency that was founded in 2005. They pride themselves at having the highest quality stock photographs available in the microstock industry. This is popular with buyers, but less so with photographers. Their standards are so high that only the very best images make it into the collection, some contributors have recorded 80% rejection rates. They are clearly trying to target customers who will accept nothing less than near perfect photography.

I have sent some images to Crestock for review, but I am still awaiting acceptance/rejection notices from them. By their own admittance, they are currently understaffed and review processes are taking up to 4 weeks (May 2010). From what I have researched, Crestock is a worthwhile agency to join if you have an outstanding portfolio. Top microstock photographers claim decent sales figures despite the fairly low compensation offered by Crestock. If you are a fantastic photographer and your iStockphoto acceptance rate is above 80%, I would say go ahead and join Crestock. If you are not at that level yet, perhaps wait a while and join them when you have improved. For buyers, I suggest looking at Crestock images before anywhere else based on their unrivaled quality standards.
